Trip to misery

Our story

Hey there from Cluj-Napoca, Romania!

This city has been our home base for the past 5 and a half years as we pursued our journey to become physicians. As good things often come to an end, we find ourselves to become a bit nostalgic looking back on our time here. Therefore, we have decided to extend our time a bit and instead of flying back, we will hike back to a small village between our home towns called 'Misery' (Elend). Our story is one of gratitude for the opportunity to get to know Romania and to pursue our carriers here. As a token of our appreciation, we wanted give something back. So here is our little farewell gift to you, Romania!

We will miss you dearly - te pup, pa-pa!

"Te pup, pa-pa" is indeed a common goodbye phrase in Romanian. It can be translated as "I kiss you, bye bye." It's a friendly and affectionate way of saying goodbye between friends or loved ones.

Our plan

"Cluj-Napoca is a bubble, go to the country side and you will see the true condition of our health care system.", remarked not only one doctor but almost everyone of them. This resonated with us as we were brainstorming about a possible farewell gift. When a romanian friend told us about this great NGO which would travel in sprinters carrying a mobile clinic and setting it up in a public building in the romanian countryside, we knew we had it.
Next to raising money for Caravana cu Medici, we also want to raise awareness that every Romanian citizen can distribute 3.5 % of their taxes to them without any extra cost. Let's support Romania to make a difference!
